YYAS is hiring instructional staff and regional associates to teach, mentor, and supervise participants both in and out of the classroom. YYAS is looking for driven individuals who have a passion for teaching, mentoring, and inspiring talented African high school students and are willing to work collaboratively to create a successful and memorable program. Instructional staff and regional associates are expected to take on a wide array of responsibilities to help facilitate the program, including both academic and residential life duties.

The 2020 program location dates* are as follows:

Ghana: 26 July – 02 August

Kenya: 08 August – 15 August

Zimbabwe: 19 August – 26 August

*Instructional staff and regional associates are required to be available from July 20 to August 27 for travel and programming in each location, as well as in May and April 2020 for biweekly training and orientation meetings.

Eligibility

Instructional Staff

  • All current Yale undergraduate and graduate students (including those graduating in May 2020) will be considered for the YYAS Instructional Staff position. 
  • All YYAS alumni who are current undergraduate or graduate students (including those graduating in May 2020) studying at a university in the U.S. will be considered for the YYAS Instructional Staff position.

Regional Associates

  • All YYAS alumni who are current undergraduate or graduate students (including those graduating in May 2020) and reside in or study at a university in Ghana, Kenya, or Zimbabwe (host countries only) will be considered for the YYAS Regional Associate position.
