His Excellency President Dr. Mokgweetsi Masisi, President of the Republic of Botswana and Her Excellency First Lady Neo Masisi, were among a delegation from Botswana that paid a courtesy visit to the Office of International Affairs at Yale University on 05 June 2019. As part of discussions for the day, the Yale Young African Scholars (YYAS) Team was privileged to share with the delegation the monumental accomplishments of the YYAS Program since its inception. The president, who is a trained teacher himself and is very passionate about education, was unsurprisingly moved by the impact of the program and was eager to learn more about it.

In keeping with the mission of YYAS and with support from the Higherlife Foundation, this year’s program will convene another batch of 300 high-achieving high school students from 41 African countries for three exciting and intensive academic sessions in Ghana, Kenya, and Zimbabwe from 25 July  to 25 August.
